Solving some of the world's most complicated and critical issues requires true dedication and vision. Rotary members believe that we all share the obligation to better our communities.
Over 775 million adults over the age of 15 are illiterate. That equates to 17% of the world's adult population. Our mission is to build communities' capacity to promote basic education and literacy, minimise gender disparities in education, and boost adult literacy. We advocate for universal education and literacy for both children and adults.
Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, diabetes, and polio are among the ailments that our members fight. Prevention is essential, which is why we emphasise health education and provide individuals with routine hearing, vision, and dental treatment.
Peace is vital to our purpose as a humanitarian organization. We think that when individuals work to bring peace to their communities, the transformation has a worldwide impact. Our members address the fundamental causes of violence by carrying out service projects and sponsoring peace fellowships and scholarships. These factors include poverty, prejudice, ethnic tension, a lack of access to education, and unfair distribution of resources..
A healthy environment and a productive existence require clean water, sanitation, and hygiene education. Waterborne infections are reduced when people have access to clean water and sanitation, children stay healthier and attend school more frequently, and moms may spend less time carrying water and more time assisting their family.
